  • Anna Elmers, MD, FAAPMR, a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician at Shepherd Center, discusses the remarkable recovery of one of her patients who suffered a catastrophic spinal cord injury during an equestrian accident. Read more.
  • David Haustein, MD, FAAPMR, an associate clinical professor at the University of Louisville and a member of AAPM&R’s Program Planning Committee, was recently named as the new associate dean of the Springfield Clinical Campus at the University of Missouri School of Medicine. Read more.
  • William Niehaus, MD, FAAPMR, a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist at the University of Colorado Hospital, discusses the lingering side effects of ventilator use for COVID-19 patients. Read more.
  • Scott Schultz, MD, FAAPMR, a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist who practices at Children’s Hospital New Orleans, will help run the first and only post COVID-19 rehab unit for children in the state after witnessing that several children who experience a side effect of COVID-19 – a MultiSystem Inflammatory Syndrome, or MIS-C, have persistent lingering symptoms. Read more.
