  • Rebecca Dutton, MD, FAAPMR, an assistant professor in orthopaedics and rehabilitation at the University of New Mexico, is working with the Lovelace UNM Rehabilitation Hospital to test a new design that could help meet the unique needs of stroke and trauma survivors. Read more.
  • Gerard Francisco, MD, FAAPMR, chair and professor of the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston McGovern Medical School, was one of 80 professionals elected to the National Academy of Medicine (NAM). Read more.
  • Flora Hammond, MD, FAAPMR, professor and chair of the department of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Indiana University School of Medicine, as well as chief of medical affairs at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana, is among the team of Indiana University researchers who received a $2.1 million federal grant to study the long-term impact of traumatic brain injuries. McDonald, MD, FAAPMR, professor of pediatrics, chair of the PM&R department, director of rehabilitation services and director of the neuromuscular disease clinics at UC Davis Health, has been appointed as the national principal investigator for the HOPE-2 Trial, run by Capricor Therapeutics, Inc.   • Michael Y. Mizhiritsky, MD, FAAPMR, physical medicine and rehabilitation physician at New York Bone and Joint Specialists, has been named a 2017 Top Doctor in New York City. Read more.
