AAPM&R Member Community Event on 6/23: Sports Medicine Current Fellows and Future Candidates

The Current and Future Sports Medicine Fellows Member Community will be hosting a PM&R-specific Q&A on Wednesday, June 23 at 6 pm PST/8 pm CST/9 pm EST with recently matched and graduating fellows, focused on current applicants, but open to all future candidates. This will be an informal discussion about the application process with the purpose of building community and support for those embarking on the application and interview journey.

Our panelists include:

  • Donald Kasitinon, MD - graduating fellow at Stanford University
  • Charles Kenyon, DO - rising fellow at Emory University
  • Scott Klass, MD - rising fellow at NYP/Columbia/Cornell
  • Stephanie Tow, MD - recent fellowship graduate at Mercy Children's Hospital

Again, this will be an open session focused on current PM&R applicants entering the match cycle, but is open to all who are interested. Zoom link and further information can be found below.

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills. 

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
