AAPM&R is pleased to introduce the new delegate and chair to the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegates (HOD). AMA delegates play a critical role in the democratic policy-making process that is the foundation of the AMA. AAPM&R delegates to the AMA HOD advocate for policies that affect physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians and their patients.
Dr. Susan Hubbell was selected to serve as the new AMA Delegation Chair and PM&R Section Council Chair. In her new role, Dr. Hubbell will also serve as an ex-officio member of the strategic coordinating committee, Quality, Practice, Policy, and Research (QPPR) Committee. She previously served as an AMA HOD delegate since 2005, and we are excited to welcome her in her new position.
Dr. Stuart Glassman was selected to serve as our second delegate to the AMA HOD. Dr. Glassman has been a member of the AMA for over 25 years and currently serves as an alternate delegate to the AMA HOD from New Hampshire, as part of the New England Delegation, and has done so since 2014. Drs. Hubbell and Glassman will begin their new roles at the Interim HOD Meeting, November 2017.
We would also like to especially thank outgoing AMA Delegate and PM&R Section Council Chair, Leon Reinstein, MD for 21 years of service, dedication, and leadership!
