In celebration of National Volunteer Week, we would like to acknowledge and applaud the hard work and dedication of all Academy volunteers.

  • Offer your talents as committee members, faculty members, Council leaders, liaisons to external organizations, task force collaborators, peer reviewers, and representatives at roundtable meetings.
  • Volunteer your time to define and advance the specialty, strengthen our Academy,
    educate the public, and affect legislation.
  • Contribute your expertise with practice management, health care advocacy, research, public awareness, and education development.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without your help. You are what ties all Academy resources, services, and events together. Thank you for your commitment!

Legislation Introduced to Alleviate Impact of Conversion Factor Cut for 2021

Last month, two bills were introduced in the House proposing solutions to the estimated 10.6% Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor cut expected to go into effect January 1, 2021.  The bills offer some relief to the cut, but do not reflect a comprehensive or long-term solution.  AAPM&R has therefore chosen to remain neutral regarding these bills. 

Your Academy continues to advocate for a permanent solution to the conversion factor cut while maintaining the important payment increases to office and outpatient evaluation and management services.
