Update: CMS' New Medicare Quality Payment Program

AAPM&R commented and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) listened. In the final rule, released on October 14, 2016, CMS outlined a new low volume threshold exemption for the Quality Payment Program.

Proposed Low Volume Threshold Exemption
$10,000 in allowed Medicare Part B charges
AND
100 or fewer patients annually
Final Low Volume Threshold Exemption
$30,000 in allowed Medicare Part B charges
OR
100 or fewer patients annually

If your practice meets either of the criteria in the final rule, you will be exempt from participating in the new Quality Payment Program. This was one of many wins that your Academy advocated for. Continue to check our website for the most up-to-date information.
