President Biden Announces an End to COVID-19 Emergencies in May

Jan 31, 2023, 12:50 PM by Christina Ghanayem

The White House announced to Congress on Monday that the COVID-19 national emergency and public health emergency will end on May 11. These emergencies were first enacted by the Trump administration in early 2020 and have been extended repeatedly since President Biden took office. The most recent extension to the PHE was announced by HHS just earlier this month and is set to expire in April. President Biden plans to extend both emergencies to end on May 11.

Your Academy will be closely monitoring alerts following Monday’s statement and is working to ensure our resources reflect these upcoming expirations. Please contact with any questions.
