In 2012, the ABIM Foundation launched the Choosing Wisely® campaign with the goal of advancing a national dialogue on avoiding wasteful or unnecessary medical tests, treatments and procedures.
Take a look at this report marking the fifth anniversary of the campaign. The report recounts the campaign’s success in raising awareness about overuse and in motivating physicians and health system leaders to implement change. Choosing Wisely® now involves more than 80 medical specialty society partners and more than 525 specialty society recommendations on overused tests, treatments and procedures.
