Welcome to AAPM&R’s Virtual Hill Day web page! We appreciate your office’s attention to issues important to physiatry and rehabilitation patients.
AAPM&R is the national medical specialty organization representing more than 10,000 physicians who are specialists in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). PM&R physicians, also known as physiatrists, are medical experts in treating a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. PM&R physicians evaluate and treat injuries, illnesses, and disability, and are experts in designing comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans. Physiatrists utilize cutting‐edge as well as time‐tested treatments to maximize function and quality of life.
Please see the materials below, shared in 2020 visits to Congressional offices. This year’s top priorities for our virtual DC fly-in on December 2-3 include preventing the 2021 conversion factor cut to avoid a major cut to overall physician reimbursement, ensuring patient access to rehabilitation care by reforming prior authorization and the intensive therapy requirement in Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities, delaying the implementation of the IMPACT Act, and ensuring COVID-19 survivors have adequate access to rehabilitation treatments.
